This site is a voluntary community enterprise undertaken by the Workmens' Boat Club, Clonmel. The Club,in existence since 1883 is an active community of members delivering projects on a number of fronts some of which can be accessed elsewhere on this site. The members share a common interest in river matters and share boating, fishing, boat repair and boat building among their common interests as well as a strong environmental responsibility that is often expressed in projects undertaken by members, such as conservation..cf the Cruiskeen project; publishing,as in the 'Cots Punts and Wherries' book; exhibitions as in the 'Celebration of the Suir' with the County Museum; and this website, thanks to the finesse of our webmaster Reginald Van Acker! Currently many of our members are developing walks along the river with the Two Bridges Partnership, Clonmel Rowing Club and Suircan. If you would like to get involved,we meet every Wednesday at 18.00 at Trailhead 69 on the Marlfield/Knocklofty road improving walks, extending walks, spreading mulch and chippings ,until c.20.00; just turn up, dressed appropriately.
